Measurement of the free space for heavy loads

         When route planning for heavy loads, accurate information is needed to show whether transport will be blocked by narrow spaces, bridges, or curves. The rugged LMS511 2D LiDAR sensor is mounted on an inspection vehicle and provides precise measurement data that can be merged to form a 3D image of the roadway and surrounding area. These calculations can then be used to reliably determine whether a long vehicle can, for instance, easily drive around a tight corner.
